Get Your Bright Ideas Funded!

Several projects have been funded by the SCO Project Funding Committee over the past months: A Record Board for MSHS Track and Field and for the Aquatics Academy, the play based learning infrastructure for G1, the ES gardening area, books in the Library for several mother-tongue groups, printing of The Flame, Vietnamese subtitles for a documentary on plastic pollution, a new School Song, are some of the projects that have become a reality with help from the SCO.

But we only provide help and funding, we need new ideas!

We develop new initiatives from students, teachers and parents to enhance our school and our community. If you feel the need for some equipment in campus, or have figured out a way to implement the UN’s SDGs within our community, or have an idea for a workshop and need money to make it real, you can apply for funding to the SCO.

The SCO Project Funding Committee is made of volunteer parents who make a two-year commitment to oversee funding allocation. We are now recruiting new members, let us know if you want to join!

We are looking forward to seeing your ideas and working together to make the community we want. To learn more, or apply for a project click here SCO Project Funding website.

Sparkly Social Presents: Strictly 80s Party – back in the day!

Hello parents –

The short week has come to an end and now it’s the weekend again. It’s been a busy start to the new school year with the parent coffees and info sessions, Back-to-School nights, sign-ups for co-curricular activities, and more. UNIS offers a lot of different activities and events to stay informed and active in the school community.
Are you a HS parent? What better way to meet and stay connected to HS parents than to serve as the SCO HS rep. The SCO is still looking for a HS parent to serve on it’s Executive Committee. You won’t be alone – the HS rep works closely with our three fantastic HS Grade-level parents – Pavla (Grade 10), Sophie (Grade 11) and Malin (Grade 12). If you’re just a bit interested, please email the SCO to find out more.
The upcoming SCO-organized Hanoi Bus Tour on Wednesday, September 19 is a great way to relax, meet other parents and learn about Hanoi. Please join us! You can register here. (note: a date error was published previously. September 19 is the correct date)
And now for the news you have been waiting for…our parent and faculty party of the year is BACK! Bust out those boomboxes, roller skates, teased hair, sequence, jumpsuits, shutter glasses because we are going ‘old school’ and taking you way back to the 80s!
Get your tickets early because they won’t be available at the door! Tickets available from September 12 – 26 at The Shop and after school in the Canteen. This is a UNIS community adult event only – book a sitter today!
