Highlights from this busy year!

Dear UNIS Parents –

On Tuesday, the SCO held its Year-End Annual General Meeting. Thanks to all the parents who attended. If you missed it, please check out the presentation which includes highlights from SCO Executive and Committee activities throughout the year. It was amazing to hear of all the fun and wonderful activities that parents organized and supported this year for our students and community.
During the meeting, parents voted to unanimously approve the updated Constitution. SCO Executive and Committee Coordinator positions for SY2019-2020 were also voted on and a final list will be shared before the end of the year. The SCO is still looking to confirm ES Representatives for Discovery to Grade 1 and Grades 2 -5, if anyone is interested email Garry at sco_es@unishanoi.org. He is arranging a coffee to meet with interested parents on Tuesday, May 28.
Hope to see you all tonight for Volunteer Appreciation!
With thanks for a very busy but truly rewarding year,
SCO Executive (Chris, Esther, Eun Mee, Garry, Sue)

Annual General Meeting – This Tuesday!

Hello UNIS parents –

The SCO will host its year-end meeting on May 21. During the meeting, you’ll hear about all of the activities the SCO supported throughout the year and the great work of our SCO Committees and SCO Executive.
The year-end meeting is always a special one in that it is the time of the year when the SCO elects members to the SCO Executive and SCO Committees Coordinators. Please check out the SCO page on the UNIS Hanoi website here for a list of all of the SCO Executive and Committee positions. If you are interested in any of the positions or want to learn more, please email the SCO (sco@unishanoi.org) and we will be in touch. We encourage all to contribute to the SCO next year!
Finally, this year, the SCO Executive has been working hard to update the SCO Constitution which guides the work of the SCO. When we first started the year and were introduced to the Constitution, we realized that it was in need of updating. We will be voting on the new Constitution at the Annual General Meeting of the SCO (May 21). Please take a bit of time to review the new changes here. Let us know if you have any questions or suggestions.
The 2015 SCO Constitution is available on the SCO website for reference and comparison.
We hope to see many of you on Tuesday, May 21 at 8:30am in the Community Room in the Admin Building (B7-1-104).
Also be sure to join us on May 24 for Volunteer Appreciation Night!
Register HERE by May 21
Thank you,
SCO Executive (Chris, Esther, Eun Mee, Garry, Sue)

Community Flea Market: Clean out and cash in!

Dear Parents,

The SCO is arranging with UNIS Hanoi to create space for a community flea market on May 4, the same day as the Used Book Sale, a MRISA volleyball tournament, and a Saturday of Service. UNIS Hanoi Flea Markets are great fun and there will be many people on campus that day. The flea market though is for you. Clean out and cash in!

You will be provided table(s) and chairs, as needed. Once we get an indication of all needs for space, we will assign a place for you so that it is a simple set up that morning.

Please note: Books cannot be sold at the Flea Market to avoid any competition with the book sale. Families are encouraged to donate books to the Used Book Sale instead to support literacy projects led by service students.

At this point, we would like to know how many of you would like to open up shop. Please use the link to register here for your table and read through the Flea Market Guidelines to best prepare.
