Autumn Intrasquad Swim Gala Success

What a lovely day we had on Saturday for our first swim meet of the year! The weather even cooperated; not too hot, not too cold and no lightning. It was a really fine way to start the season.

Swimmers! It was really good to finally see you race. We are already far ahead of last year.  Our swimmers took down 6 UNIS Team records which is very good for the first meet of the year. Nghia Le broke records in the 9+10 50 Breast, 100 Fly and 100IM.  Bill Nguyen broke the 13+14 50 Fly record and new Phoenix swimmers Endric Lotsch and Jacob Biros each broke one.  Endric broke the 9+10 50 Free record and Jacob broke the 15+over 50 Fly record and narrowly missed the 50 free record.  Well done swimmers!

We had well over 300 Personal Best Times with many swimmers having best times in all their events. Almost every swimmer had multiple best times after less than a month of training. Our swimmers are paying attention and working hard. Our coaches are very happy and proud of you!

Our parents were fantastic. It makes a huge difference to the swimmers when the parents are positively involved and actively supporting the team support. Parents, you rocked! The coaching staff sends a huge thank you to all the parents who supported the team. Without your amazing support, we would not have been able to coach and  focus on the swimmers!

Our next meet is the UNIS Hanoi Invitational Meet at the end of the month. We will have about 250 swimmers; some coming from as far away as Singapore to race with us.
