Evacuation Drill

At UNIS Hanoi, we strive to provide a safe learning environment for our students. The safety of your child and all children in our school as well as the safety of school staff is very important to us. In order to maintain a safe environment for our students to learn, it is necessary to practice our emergency plans by having drills designed to exercise our procedures.

The students and staff currently practice two types of drills each year, evacuation and lockdown. Our evacuation procedures are used for many scenarios including fire. We will be conducting our first evacuation drill of the year on Tuesday, 3 September 2019, at 9:00. We want each student to understand and be aware of the importance of this drill and not be afraid when the alarm is sounded. The remainder of evacuation drills will be unannounced. There will also be two announced lockdown drills during the school year. You will be notified of the dates and times closer to the actual drill.

For the safety of everyone involved and to maintain order, we respectfully ask that you would abide by the following during these drills:

  • If you are on campus, please follow the evacuation route located on the evacuation maps by the exit doors of all rooms.
  • Visitors will be asked to quietly stand in the assembly area.
  • All gates will be closed during the drill. Please know that you will not be able to enter or exit campus during the drill

If you have any questions regarding any of the safety drills or other safety concerns, please contact your school office, or our Safety and Security Manger, Mr. Bang at thbang@unishanoi.org.

Warm Regards,
Misty Shipley
