Meet our Secondary School Principal Candidates

Dear Parents,

We invite you to meet our Secondary School Principal Candidates. The finalists for this important new leadership role will be visiting UNIS Hanoi and you have the opportunity to meet them on November 7, 8 and 13 at 8.05 – 8.50am in the Community Room (B7).

These sessions have been designed by our Principal Search Team to specifically gather parent perspectives. Each candidate will offer a 20-minute presentation followed by a question and answer session. Resumes for all candidates will be available at the event and we will share a feedback form following the sessions for parents who attended. Your feedback is an important part of the selection process to determine which candidate is the best fit for UNIS Hanoi.

New Secondary School at UNIS Hanoi – The Background:

As we shared in the Tin Tuc, our High School Principal, Mr Scott Schaffner, the High School Deputy Principal, Ms Glenda Baker and the Middle School Principal, Mr Marc Vermeire will be moving on to new opportunities for next school year.

This is a wonderful opportunity for the school to evolve from its current Middle School and High School leadership structure to a Secondary School structure. The goal of the new structure is to preserve all that is positive about our current situation while simultaneously, addressing areas that could be improved. Our Concept is one of Schools within a School.

A new Secondary School will be divided into two distinct divisions – Middle School and High School – independent and autonomous when appropriate, and operating under the cohesion of one Secondary School for seamless student transition and planning (For more information see the Tin Tuc article: Important Updates from the Head of School).

Join us in welcoming the following Secondary School Principal Candidates for our 2020 – 2021 School year. (see poster for details)

Couldn’t make it to school to meet the candidates? All videos will be uploaded onto your Veracross Parent Portal for a very limited time. After the last candidate presents on Wednesday, November 13 parents will be able to watch each presentation from 10.00 to 17.00 and submit feedback on our questionnaire.

Looking forward to seeing you at these events.

In appreciation,

Jane McGee

Head of School
