Dear Parents,

We had a great week in K1B!  We started our inquiry into the transdisciplinary theme who we are with the central idea:  Personal choices affect ourselves and the community. We learned some cooperative games, including ‘This is a spoon’ and a board game called ‘Snail Pace Race.’  We began discussing what it means to be a class community, and our responsibility for creating the type of classroom we want to have in K1B.  We read a book called How Do Dinosaurs Eat Their Food? and came up with our own ideas about how we should and shouldn’t eat our meals together in K1B.  The students have been learning to sit together for meal times, clear their own plates, and eat politely and safely.  When our schedule permits, the students also set the tables.  You may want to ask your child about lunch times and reinforce these habits at home.  In math we learned an addition song called ‘One Elephant Went Out to Play.”  Please see this link for photos from this week:  K1B Photos
