Friday 31 August

Dear Parents,

We have enjoyed another busy week full of fun and learning.  We have spent a lot of time inquiring into Who We Are as a K2D community.  We have focused on finding out more information about our classmates families, nationalities and likes and dislikes.

If your family has not yet signed up for a 10 minutes sharing time with the class please could you click on the below link and make a time.

Who We Are Family Sign up

This week we have enjoyed learning about Nikhil’s, Thomas’s, Claire’s and Ruben’s families.

Nikhil’s mum (also our ECC Principal) Mrs C, taught us how to count in Hindi and showed us some beautiful Indian kurtas and saris.

Thomas’s mum Geralda taught us about the food in Belgium.  We tasted white, brown and dark chocolate, and ate pieces of apple and pear dipped in melted chocolate. Yum!

Claire’s parents Anthony and Ngoc, came to school this morning and shared with us Claire’s Australian and Vietnamese heritage.  Claire wore a beautiful Ao Dai and taught us to play the Australian didgeridoo.

This afternoon Ruben’s parents, Daniel and Nina, came in and taught us about Germany and Ireland.  We learned how to count in German and Irish, and a German song that we used our thumbs to act out.

This week K2D also enjoyed meeting our Grade 4 buddies for the first time. We had fun playing ‘Just Like Me’ in the ECC gym and them moving to our classroom for some shared choice time.  We are looking forward to our next buddy session in a fortnight.
