Unit of Inquiry
This week we continued our unit of inquiry into the transdisciplinary theme how we express ourselves with the central idea: Storytelling allows us to share ideas, feelings and experiences. We continued to look at the line of inquiry: Storytelling in different ways and appreciating storytelling. This week we have discussed characters. The children have used green screen and their imagination to make stick puppets to use in our theatre. All children have completed their book using Book Creator and it has been posted to their individual blogs.
We read the story called “A Squiggly Story.” The story is about a boy who wants to write like his sister, but he doesn’t know how to write words. The story encourages children to use the letters they know, the things they can draw and their words to create amazing books. They are beginning to see themselves as authors and writing books. Some children have been sharing their books to the class. These students are real risk-takers. The books will be uploaded on their blogs using green screen….your child will narrate the story in the corner.
The Year of the Dog
I have always wanted a class pet…so here it is 🙂 We don’t have a name yet…but we will share the name once we decide.
Today we made TET decorations with our buddies.
Next Wednesday is the TET assembly. Children are encouraged to wear an Ao Dai to school on that day.
Have a great weekend,
Kristi and Hang
