Appeal for Recipes!

Some Grade 12 parents and students are making a UNIS Hanoi cookbook, and we want it to be full of the community’s favorite recipes! We need *your* help to make the best cookbook possible.

Our theme for the cookbook is Family Favorites for UN Day. UN Day is one of the most special days at UNIS Hanoi, and a big part of the celebration is the wonderful food that is brought in for the UN Day Lunch by our families. We would like to share those recipes with our community so we can all enjoy the delicious offerings over and over again.

If you have a recipe that is different from what you send in on UN Day, we’d love that recipe too! We would like to know what is most delicious and special to your family!

Recipes will be collected from now until September 25. Please submit your family’s favorite recipes through this form.

We hope to make the cookbook available on UN Day, and it will be in the School Shop thereafter. It will make a wonderful gift to friends and family, and hopefully be a treasured memento of your family’s time at UNIS. Funds raised through the sale of the cookbook will help cover G12 Graduation Committee activities.

If you have questions, please contact: SCO_CookBook@unishanoi.org

First Coffee Morning for Neurodiverse Families

The SCO Neurodiverse Families Support Group invites you to our first coffee morning on September 11.  We will be holding monthly meetings designed for parents to connect, provide each other with support, exchange ideas, knowledge and stories.

Join us at Donkey Bakery from 10:30-12. Please RSVP here.

We are a parent support group for families with neurodivergent kids. Examples of neurodivergence include: Dyslexia, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism, Dystaxia & Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), sensory processing, executive function, self-regulation and social communication issues. Any parent of a child with learning or thinking differences is welcome to participate; your child does not need a diagnosis for you to join the group. For any questions, please contact: SCONeurodiverseFamilies@unishanoi.org.

For parents interested in creating their own support group around a topic, interest or issue, please see these SCO Parent Support Group Guidelines.

Introducing the Neurodiverse Families Support Group

In SY2020-2021, the SCO will be launching a new parent support group for families with neurodivergent kids. Examples of neurodivergence include: Dyslexia, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism, Dystaxia & Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), sensory processing, executive function, self-regulation and social communication issues.

This support group was envisioned by two UNIS Hanoi parents, Sarah Garner and Hieu Nguyen, who have been connecting with other interested parents over the last two years. The SCO is happy to be able to offer support starting next year to help promote and facilitate connections among parents. With the support of the school, this group will also be able to take advantage of existing expertise and resources.

Any parent of a child with learning or thinking differences is welcome to participate; your child does not need a diagnosis for you to join the group. The plan is that starting in August 2020, the group will hold monthly meetings designed for parents to connect, provide each other with support, exchange ideas, knowledge and stories. If you can’t attend in person, useful information will be available on the UNIS website and the Veracross Portal.

Stay tuned for more information about the group and details about the date, time and location for the group’s kick-off meeting in August 2020. For any questions, please contact: SCONeurodiverseFamilies@unishanoi.org.

For parents interested in creating their own support group around a topic, interest or issue, please see these SCO Parent Support Group Guidelines.

Lost and Found Items on Display

UNIS Hanoi is organising the end of year Lost and Found display! Come by on June 3 between 16.00 – 18.00 in front of Building 8 under the stairs.

All items that have lost their way this school year will be gathered into one location.

The ever supportive SCO will be helping to organise the items into different categories to make it easier to search through. If you want to help in the setup, please contact sco_ms@unishanoi.org.

After the pickup day, all remaining lost items will be donated to our service partners.

Love Our World Spring Fair

UNIS Hanoi community members are welcome to join the Spring Fair 2019 as we spread and share the love for our world!

Come join us for tons of lively music, stage shows, cuisines from around the world , plenty of games and fun surprises for all ages to enjoy, learn about other cultures and explore our beautiful world! (Spring Fair map)

Have you got your wristband?
