Busy Builders and Makers

This week was one busy week in K2C!

Market Day

Tuesday we went to grade 4 market and service day to do research on our next unit (more information coming soon!). While at market and service day we couldn’t help but sample the many things on sale.

Shapes and TET Dragons

In math we have started to investigate shapes and where we see them. We went on shape hunts around the school looking for ovals, rectangles, squares, triangles, hexagons and circles. We then used shapes to create our very own TET dragons, which we will write stories about next week.

K2C visits the Makerspace

On Thursday we met Mr.C in the Makerspace and began learning how we can use Makedo to create with cardboard. This has inspired many of us to continue the making in our classroom. As we at UNIS are committed to living the UN’s SDG’s we would like to be responsible in our consumption. Therefore we would like to ask your help from home. Please send in recycled/used boxes, toilet and tissue paper rolls, cleaned/washed drink containers and empty jars.

Mystery Reader

Huge thank you to Ms. NItasha for being our mystery reader this week. She read Pearl Barley Charlie Parsley, by Aaron Blabey. We really enjoyed talking about how even if we are different we can still be friends.
