Introducing Ms. Jacqui & Ms. Hien
Welcome to K1C!
My name is Jacqui Stransky. This is my first year at UNIS and I am excited to join this community of families and educators. I am from the United States and have most recently been living in New York. Prior to coming to HaNoi, I taught for 10 years in Dubai at both an American curriculum school and an IB school. My husband, Jim, and I have two adult children. My daughter Tulsi is 25. She lives in Tucson Arizona and is an elementary learning support and special education teacher. My son Kalkin is 23 and just started his first job in Phoenix after completing his MBA in accounting.
I graduated from Northern Arizona University and have a UK CACHE early childhood diploma. I have been teaching in a variety of early childhood settings for 12 years. I am passionate about introducing critical thinking and visible thinking routines to our youngest learners. I believe it is important to create classroom communities where students feel valued and have a sense of belonging. Creating community for my students and their families happens by being genuine, by building their trust in me and each other and by creating a classroom that is filled with warmth, love and wonder! I can’t wait to get to know you better and to build strong and lasting relationships with all of you!

Ms Hien has a Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education. She worked in several international schools and kindergartens for six years before joining UNIS Ha Noi. This will be her seventh year at UNIS. She is keen on working with young children, and is looking forward to having a remarkable year with Ms Jacqui and the K1C students.”
