This past week has been filled with learning experiences and celebrations that define our community at UNIS Hanoi and our commitment to our mission, vision and values.
On Monday, the school observed the UN’s International Day of Peace in a myriad of ways including making Peace Cranes, practicing mindfulness through yoga sessions and at the Diploma level, investigating the role and number of the UN Peacekeeping Operations around the world. In recognition of our host country, on Thursday, curricular activities in the ES explored the tradition and importance of the Autumn Moon Festival throughout Vietnam. And for those of you with children in Grade 5, you will be aware that the current unit of inquiry exploring different forms of governance and the impact on citizens has led to a “peaceful” protest on campus calling for action on Climate Change.
This weekend, over 100 of our parents will be participating in the Goody Bag Discovery Trail and I would like to extend a thank you to those who have taken the lead on this project and also our eco-friendly partners for their commitment to collaborate with our community. It is a great way for all of us to learn more about this incredible city.
And, finally, thank you to a group of our Grade 12 parents and students for initiating the School Cookbook project. It is not too late to contribute to the over 100 recipes currently submitted. The deadline has been extended to September 28 and details can be found in this edition of Tin Tuc.
The learning and engagement of our students, your children, is palpable.
