This week we started our new unit of inquiry. Our big idea is: “Light and sound affect our lives in many ways.” We had a fun, if but noisy start to the unit with free exploration of our light and sound equipment. The children subsequently came up with many interesting “wonderings” about light and sound such as: “why does the mirror reflect light?”, “how do the drums make a sound?”, “why does a torch need batteries?” and “how do all these things work?”. We will find out! Here are the kids getting busy (watch until the end for a bit of noise!).
In maths this week we’ve been revisiting all our games, including “Saluter” and “Double Compare”. Here are the rules if you’d like to play at home:
The Learning Intentions for next week:
Maths – Practice of addition and subtraction within 20.

English – Information reports, making connections between text and ourselves.
UoI – Inquiry into where light and sound come from.
PSEL – Empathy, cooperation and integrity.
