This is our LAST BLOG post for this school year. Wishing you a wonderful and safe summer. We wish safe journeys to Ethan, Harutaka and William to their new homes and we will see the rest of you back at UNIS in August. Happy Summer!
New Classes in Grade 2
On Friday, the students visited their new classrooms and met their new teachers. The students were very excited and a little bit nervous going upstairs. I know that Grade 2 is going to be such a huge success for each child. The new teachers are:
Mr Daniel 2A, Ms Keri 2B, Ms Christy 2C, Mr Kenny 2D
Our final Mystery Reader was Quang’s mom. She read us a story in Vietnamese, her mother tongue. We also learned that she speaks English. Thank you for reading to us. In our class, we have had at least 1 parent come and read to us this school year. That is a huge accomplishment and we are very proud of that!!! Thank you for all making a difference in our reading program this school year.
UOI-Thank You Party to the Cleaners
On Wednesday, we had a special Thank You party for the cleaning staff that clean our classroom. As a part of our Unit of Inquiry, Sharing the Planet we learned about trash in our school environment and outside our school. We learned that our school stays extremely clean due to the dedication of the cleaning staff. The ‘Thoughtful Thinkers’ action group created this party. The students made invitations, thank you notes and created a wonderful party to honor the cleaners that clean Grade 1 classrooms. We even sang Tomorrow to them and added their names. We are so proud of their action.
Thank You for our Class Party
Thank you for a wonderful class party. It was so lovely to have time to celebrate all of the student’s accomplishments this school year. They have worked so hard and deserved a special party to honor them. What a fun movie, dance party, afternoon tea and celebration with all of the classes. Thank you for all of your lovely food contributions and for the gift certificate. Ms Lam and I are so appreciative. THANK YOU!
