Unit of Inquiry
We are continuing with our unit of inquiry into the transdisciplinary theme how the world works with the central idea: Water is a natural resource that can be explored. This week we have been looking at the line of inquiry: how water behaves. The children have been exploring the different states of water. We are beginning to understand how water changes and how it moves. The children have shown an interest in how snow crystals form. Today we ordered LOADS of ice for the children to explore. They used their senses to explore the ice. The children noticed the temperature, how it melted faster outside, etc… It was really fun!! A big thank you to Chef Adam for sourcing big pieces of ice and 12 bags of ice cubes 🙂
How to Eat Like a Child
On Tuesday, we went to the theatre to watch a short preview of “How to Eat Like a Child.” The children LOVED it!! There are still tickets for purchase for the Saturday night show.
We have re-drawn our self portraits. WOW!! The change in the children’s drawing, fine motor and image of themselves has changed so much since the beginning of the year. Please come into the classroom and have a look.
Our fairy continue to amaze us. She has been writing us letters and today her fairy friends helped bring snow into our classroom. “It snowed in Fairy Land last night and the fairies carried snow into our class for us to play with.” Ask your child all about our fairy…she has the children drawing and writing letters!
Have a great weekend,
Kristi and Hang
