Dear Elementary Families from Discovery to Grade 5,

Given our shared commitment to successful partnerships between parents and our school, we warmly invite you to attend your child’s Back To School Night presentations on Thursday, September 7th, 2017 where you will have the opportunity to hear from homeroom and specialist teachers about the year ahead. Following parent feedback, all Back To School Night presentations from Discovery to Grade 5, will be shared on one evening only.

The programme will run as follows:

At our Back To School evening, you can expect that your child’s teachers will share with you a range of information including:

  • Important members of your child’s educational team, and their contact details
  • Methods of communication between school and home (Blogs, email, ES Tin Tuc, etc)
  • What’s different to the previous grade & highlights for this year
  • Key areas of focus in Language, Mathematics and Units of Inquiry
  • Important aspects of your child’s schedule
  • Home learning as it relates to your child’s grade level
  • How to best support your child’s learning this year in partnership with the school

Our specialist teachers look forward to meeting you in the Centre for Arts foyer. Here you will find teachers from EAL (English as an Additional Language), Library, Physical Education, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, World Languages and our Student Support Services Team (Learning Support, Counseling & Speech-Language Pathology) as well as representatives from our Co-Curricular office, Food Services and Primary Years Programme.

We look forward to seeing you at Back to School Night and speaking further about what the year ahead holds in store for your child.

Welcome to the Elementary Tin Tuc News!

Dear Elementary Parents,

As part of our commitment to strengthening our partnerships with parents, we are launching the ES Tin Tuc News as a way to streamline our communication with Elementary families.

The ES Tin Tuc News will arrive in your inbox every Thursday.  The blog will pull all posts that are relevant to you.  For example, a Grade 4 parent may receive general announcements,  Grade 4 blog posts and any news from Grade 4 specialist teachers for the week ahead.  Instead of reading several blogs and emails, you will now receive this consolidated mailing with all pertinent information.

D-12 News will continue to be delivered every Friday via the regular Tin Tuc email. Please be sure to also read this for important news updates.

We value your feedback!  Let us know how this communication platform is working for you.  Please share your thoughts with us at estintuc@unishanoi.org.

Sincerely,

Megan Brazil
Elementary Principal

Back to School Night – Thursday 7th September:  6.00pm – 7.15pm

Back to School Night is an annual event on our calendar where we invite parents into their child’s classroom and to meet all of their specialist subject teachers.

Come along to meet our teachers, and find out what your child will be learning this year.

This is not an opportunity for a personal conference about your child – it’s an important overview of the year ahead.  Time has been divided to allow you opportunity to visit your child(ren)’s class(es), as well as meet with specialist subject teachers in the Centre For Arts.  We look forward to seeing you there!
