This week we continued our inquiry into the transdisciplinary theme how the world works with the central idea: water is a natural resource that can be explored. We continued to find out more about where our water comes from in the ECC. We will inquire into how we get clean drinking water at UNIS and our water sources on Earth. We learned a new math game called “Beep” and focussed on rhyming in English. Tomorrow we will have an exciting morning of making. It is Maker Day at UNIS and each grade level in the Elementary School will be presented with a design challenge and materials to use. I can’t wait to see the results.
The students in our class are talented artists. You will often find almost all of our class choosing to draw, copy words, and make their own books. The children share ideas with each other and discover new techniques that they then teach to the group. This interest in drawing and attention to detail greatly helps to develop early literacy skills.
