This week we continued our inquiry into the transdisciplinary theme who we are with the central idea: Personal choices affect ourselves and the community. We worked on developing our K1B Community Agreements – what do we want our class to look, sound and feel like? I will send home a photo of our agreements once they are a bit more finalized so that you can look at them as a family. We have been discussing the word “community” and trying to figure out what it means. The students understand that their families are the most important part of their communities and now we are beginning to expand that understanding to include our classmates. The students drew pictures of each other and are talking about how we are connected. Please talk about “community” at home, especially if your home language if it isn’t English. On Wednesday we cooked some tasty treats for afternoon snack, and Thursday we met our Grade 3 buddies for the first time! We had lots of fun taking our class photo as well. Please see this link for photos from this week: K1B Photos
