Swimming with Rash Vests

As we are well into our first session of swimming I would like to mention the use of rash vests, rash suits or sun shirts during lessons. We would highly recommend swimmers not to wear them during curriculum swimming. Fortunately our pool is covered and we are never in direct sunlight but more importantly we tend to find the shirts hamper natural body movement and add a lot of drag to the younger swimmer. It therefore makes it harder for them to swim. This also applies to shorts which fall at, or below the knees.

For girls we would recommend a simple one piece costume and for boys, thigh length trunks. Many thanks,

Martin Hamilton
